The National Federation of the Blind distributes many different magazines, newspapers, newsletters, speeches, reports, books, and other pieces of literature to inform the public (blind and sighted) about the true nature of blindness and about issues of interest to the blind.
Braille Monitor
The leading publication of the National Federation of the Blind, this magazine is published eleven times a year and covers blindness-related events, activities, and issues.
Journal of Blindness Innovation and Research
JBIR is the first scholarly journal created by blind people designed to address the real problems of blindness. An open-access, online-only publication, JBIR is international in scope and interdisciplinary. Its reports, reviews, and opinion pieces broaden and deepen our understanding of the best practices for increasing the independence, self-respect, self-determination, and potential of the blind.
