Imagine a Future Full of Opportunity

Employment and Rehabilitation

The Employment and Rehabilitation Program is one of the primary initiatives of the NFB Jernigan Institute. The program goal is to increase the 30% employment rate of working-age, legally blind adults and to develop innovative employment interventions and model rehabilitation programs.

One of the first projects of the Employment and Rehabilitation Program is the National Center for Mentoring Excellence (NCME). The purpose of this project is to establish the first National Center for Mentoring Excellence to increase post-secondary academic success, high-quality employment, and greater community integration for the blind population.
